|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1st | first | primero |
| 2 | 2nd | second | segundo |
| 3 | 3rd | third | tercero |
| 4 | 4th | fourth | cuarto |
| 5 | 5th | fifth | quinto |
| 6 | 6th | sixth | sexto |
| 7 | 7th | seventh | séptimo |
| 8 | 8th | eighth | octavo |
| 9 | 9th | ninth | noveno |
Regla general: -th
|---|---|---|
| five | fifth | ve pasa a f |
| eight | eighth | solo se añade h (no eightth) |
| nine | ninth | se pierde la e |
| twelve | twelfth | ve pasa a f |
| twenty, thirty… | twentieth, thirtieth… | -y pasa a -ieth |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | -st | 1st, 21st, 31st, 101st |
| 2 | -nd | 2nd, 22nd, 42nd, 102nd |
| 3 | -rd | 3rd, 23rd, 53rd, 103rd |
| 4-9 y 0 | -th | 4th, 15th, 28th, 40th, 100th |
| 11, 12, 13 | -th | 11th, 12th, 13th, 111th, 112th |
UU.) | Español |
|---|---|---|
| October 21 | October twenty-first | el 21 de octubre |
| July 4, 1776 | July fourth, seventeen seventy-six | el 4 de julio de 1776 |
| 10/21/2026 | October twenty-first, twenty twenty-six | 21/10/2026 |
Para preguntar: What’s the date today? (¿Qué fecha es hoy?). It’s October twenty-first. (Es 21 de octubre). Repasa on, in y at en preposiciones de tiempo.
|---|---|---|---|
| 11th | eleventh | 22nd | twenty-second |
| 12th | twelfth | 23rd | twenty-third |
| 13th | thirteenth | 24th | twenty-fourth |
| 14th | fourteenth | 25th | twenty-fifth |
| 15th | fifteenth | 26th | twenty-sixth |
| 16th | sixteenth | 27th | twenty-seventh |
| 17th | seventeenth | 28th | twenty-eighth |
| 18th | eighteenth | 29th | twenty-ninth |
| 19th | nineteenth | 30th | thirtieth |
| 20th | twentieth | 31st | thirty-first |
| 21st | twenty-first |
|---|---|---|
| 40th | fortieth | cuadragésimo |
| 50th | fiftieth | quincuagésimo |
| 60th | sixtieth | sexagésimo |
| 70th | seventieth | septuagésimo |
| 80th | eightieth | octogésimo |
| 90th | ninetieth | nonagésimo |
| 100th | (one) hundredth | centésimo |
| 101st | one hundred first | centésimo primero |
En inglés no: our fiftieth anniversary, my fortieth birthday.
Pisos, puestos, siglos y reyes
- Pisos: I live on the fourth floor (Vivo en el cuarto piso).
- Puestos: She finished in second place (Terminó en segundo lugar). He came in third (Quedó tercero).
- Siglos: the twenty-first century (el siglo XXI).
- Cursos escolares (EE. UU.): first grade, fifth grade, twelfth grade. She’s in sixth grade (Está en sexto).
Con los ordinales suele ir the: the second door on the left (la segunda puerta a la izquierda). Se omite con posesivos (my first car) y en expresiones como in first place o at first sight.
|---|---|---|
| 1/2 | one half / a half | un medio, la mitad |
| 1/3 | one third / a third | un tercio |
| 2/3 | two thirds | dos tercios |
| 1/4 | a quarter / one fourth | un cuarto |
